The hole in the Ozone layer has opened up again
It is reported to be a consequence of water vapour that ended up in Earth’s stratosphere following the 2022 Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai eruption, the largest natural explosion on our planet in over a century.
The atmospheric temperature is regulated by GHG greenhouse gases, the most important of which is water vapour, which accounts for 70% of all GHG. But, you guessed it, water vapour is not in the climate change model, nor are aerosols that regulate the water vapour pressure.
Water vapour pressure is a function of the evaporation of water from the surface of the world’s Oceans, and this is regulated by the surface microlayer, or SML, which is an oil-lipid-surfactant skin produced by phytoplankton. But the phytoplankton are being killed by lipophilic chemical pollution, microplastics, and partially combusted carbon. The SML also forms a biogenic aerosol that nucleates the water to form clouds and rain; without a healthy SML, there are fewer clouds and high water vapour pressure, ergo climate change caused by pollution.
So, if this is true, the ozone layer is going to expand, vapour pressure will increase, cloud formation will decrease, and we will have catastrophic climate change irrespective of carbon mitigation and be fried by high UV irradiation levels.
