Seahorse Point has 3 km of trails through the jungle; 1.5 km of trails have gravel and are accessible even in the rain.
All of the trails are flat; there is no climbing, steep slopes or difficult terrain to cross. This means you can focus on the trees, plants and nature.
We have regular special events at Seahorse Point, but most Fridays we are open to visitors. If you just wish to visit our cafe, there is no charge. However you can purchase a 1/2-day pass and enjoy the unique experience that is Sea Horse Point
- As part of the package, there is an introduction to the site and our mission. This will include a view of microorganisms in the seawater and maybe also a microscopic view of the animals in the leaf litter. You can opt for a guided tour, or you may choose to have a self-guided tour
- Mangrove boardwalk: explore the back of the mangrove; tour companies call the area Sloth Point, where you might see the sloths from a boat. On our mangrove path you are guaranteed to see sloths. You may also see anteaters, raccoons, Jesus Christ lizards, iguanas, parrots, eagles and many more animals. Note there are no poisonous snakes on Bastimentos.
- Enjoy our tropical gardens and pond with at least 3 caimen, and many dragonflies, fish and frogs
- Jungle walks, 1.5 km of gravel walks, are very safe and accessible for everyone, even when it's wet. There is also 1.5 km of raw jungle with a clear path, but it might get a bit slippery if it's wet.
- Food forest, with Casita Liana, is a work in progress but has great views and is educational.
- Treenet, allows access 30m up into the tree canopy, a great place to relax and chill among the branches and get a new perspective on nature
- Kayaks and sailing dinghies: if you are using these, then there is an additional charge because a safety boat will be required
- CAFE, the seagrass Cafe

Dr Howard Dryden (marine biologist) and Diane Duncan will be your hosts. Howard delivered the first talk at a COP26 conference on the importance of the oceans in climate disruption. Diane was head of low carbon in the Scottish government (Highlands and Islands). Your hosts are world experts on nature and the environment, so this is not just a tour; it's potentially a life-changing experience.
