Seagrass meadows
Seagrass meadows are among the ocean's most productive and undervalued habitats. These underwater flowering plants stabilise the seabed, shelter young marine life, and store carbon far faster than forests on land. The meadows around Seahorse Point are nursery grounds for the reef and a vital link in the health of the wider Bastimentos Island Marine Park.
