Plankton
Plankton are the microscopic plants and animals that drift through the ocean — and they are the foundation of life on Earth. Phytoplankton produce a large share of the oxygen we breathe and draw down vast amounts of carbon, while zooplankton feed the fish, whales and seabirds above them. Monitoring plankton productivity is a core part of the research carried out at Seahorse Point and the GOES Foundation.
