AI and climate change , the end is nigh

According to Google AI (Bard) I asked the following questions about the survival of humanity

1. When will 90% of all wildlife be lost to the world?

If the current rate of decline in wildlife populations continues, the world will have lost more than 90% of all wildlife by 2050. This is according to a 2022 report by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), which found that wildlife populations have declined by an average of 69% since 1970. The report also found that the decline is accelerating, with some species facing extinction.

2. I then asked, according to the Alee Effect, at what percentage loss will a community collapse?

Some studies have suggested that even a small percentage loss can have a significant impact on a population and that a loss of 30% or more could lead to collapse.

3. Does humanity depend on nature?

Yes, humanity depends on nature. We need nature for our survival. Nature provides us with the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, and the materials we use to build our homes and create our products. Nature also provides us with a place to live, work, and play. We are part of nature, and we cannot survive without it.

Our response; Climate change is the greatest threat to humanity, not because of climate change but because of the Carbon Tunnel vision, and the belief that carbon mitigation will solve all our problems. We might achieve net zero by 2050, but we will have succeeded in destroying the planet at the same time. We need to focus on nature and our planet’s life support system; carbon mitigation is just a small part of this process.
