Well, they will never ever have sufficient data, they will never give a definitive answer, and they will never ever give you a solution to climate change, unless the idea is so bonkers like Space Bubbles from MIT. https://lnkd.in/eBvdZRjN
We need to get a grip and deal with the problem that we know, which is not focusing on renewables or carbon offsetting. We are not going to stop climate change; it will likely be 2.5 to 3.5 °C or worse. There is no way we can stop catastrophic climate change through carbon mitigation because carbon accounts for only 15% to 20% of climate change. The primary greenhouse gas is water vapour, and BioClimatic factors regulate the climate along with ecosystems such as wetlands, lakes, peat bogs, marshlands, mangroves, seagrass, coral reefs, forests, and indeed all of nature on land and marine life in our oceans. We must regenerate nature because, in 20 years, 90%+ of all nature will be dead….The world is focusing on the wrong mechanisms; it is only nature that could actually rebalance the earth, stop catastrophically bad climate change, and prevent the extinction of humanity.
What’s causing the destruction of nature? destruction of ecosystems, unsustainable agriculture, and fishing, to name but a few, but the real killers are toxic chemicals, plastic, and partially combusted carbon. Even if you eliminated humans from the planet today, these chemicals would continue to kill nature for hundreds of years. There is so much toxicity in the world that the planet will be sterilised.
100% of the wealth of companies such as 3M and Dupont that have poisoned the planet with PFOS should be made to pay. Every person, animal, and plant everywhere now contains PFOS, a toxic forever-mutagenic molecular plastic. Then there are 14,000 other chemicals that are just about as bad.
But the problems can be fixed. Through Green Chemistry and product development, we can recover and regenerate ecosystems to give nature and humans a much healthier environment. It is a total no-brainer why we do not do these things, but think Space Bubbles and electric cars are the solution and not water treatment and elimination of pollution. It will be expensive, but what’s wrong with making the world a better and safer place for plants, animals, and humans?
Nature on land and marine life in the Oceans are the planet’s life support system; humanity cannot survive without a healthy ecosystem, but in 20 years, it will be gone, along with most of humanity.
