Marine life
The waters around Seahorse Point form part of the 33,000-acre Bastimentos Island National Marine Park, a Mission Blue Hope Spot. Coral reefs, seagrass meadows and mangroves here support an extraordinary range of marine life — from seahorses and nurse sharks to the plankton that underpins the entire ocean food web. Studying and regenerating this marine environment is at the heart of the Seahorse Point project.
