SUMMARY:Clay art classes
DESCRIPTION:  \nEach month we will have Coral Ecology Ceramic Workshops with Louis\, one of the top artists in Bocas. This unique workshop will include a detailed presentation on coral ecology\, suitable for all ages\, by Dr Howard Dryden (Marine Biologist). The presentation on coral structures is followed by a hands-on clay session with Louis. \nYou will learn about the clay and leafcutter ants and how to prepare the clay. You will then move into our studio to start work on your model under the guidance of Louis. \nYou will be able to take your sculpture home if you are very careful\, because the air-dried clay is very delicate\, or you can choose to leave it at Seahorse Point and collect it on your next visit. We can fire your sculpture in a carbon kiln; this will give you a much stronger sculpture\, but there is also the risk it will break. Fired sculptures can then be planted in the local bay to support the growth of more coral. \nAfter the clay workshop you may then enjoy a coffee\, drink and lunch in our cafe\, (not included in ticket price) \nAfter lunch\, you are welcome to use our kayaks to paddle over to a small local reef where you will see marine life and the corals and go in for a snorkel. Alternatively\, we can take you to the reef in our electric boat. The second option is that you enjoy our tropical gardens or chill-out 60 ft up in the tree net. \nA boat will be available at 9:00 am from Bocas Docks\, returning at 3:00pm
