Work is required on the docks to repair and upgrade; currently, the water depth is 1.5 to 2 metres. Fingers will be installed and extensions will be made to give a working depth of 3 m. Tidal height is only 300 mm so any boat with up to 2.2 m draft will be accessible.
We will also be laying up to six mooring buoys in 4m of water.
Onshore facilities also have to be developed, but will include;
- Toilets, biogass, methane used to generate power and cook
- showers, simple nature based soap
- washing machines, microplastic filters, 100% recycled water
- restaurant/cafe, zero waste everyting is composted
- water treated by ultra filtration and limited power
- paddle boards, forest walks in our nature reserve
- science and educational centre on climate change and nature
- All waste plastic is minimised, anu surplas plastic to be turned into building material
- All aluminium, meltedusing metane from toilets and used for othe products
- All glass turned into aggregate and used to support mangroves
